July 2025 Color Kitz | Summer: Soak Up The Sun | Stephanie Dang

  Hi everyone! I’m Stephanie Dang, and I'm back on the blog today to share my project using this month’s color kitz. This kit is so fun and filled with beautiful splashes of yellow, green, orange, red, and blue. Perfect for documenting your summer festivities! You will find all supplies to recreate the layout at the bottom of my blog post.

Step 1: Start with the black and white background. Layer on the citrus paper and the lime green diamond paper.

Step 2: Trim down the white with blue hearts down to make sure it layers nicely on the others. Do not glue down. We need to prep that layer with clear gesso and let it dry.

Step 3: Working with Inklingz (Old Yeller), a waterbrush, water, swirl, and move that color all around the page as seen. Tapping a few splatters around the page. Take Shimmerz (Pip-Pip Cherry-O), and only add splatters to the top right and bottom left of corners.  Let dry and adhere to layout.

Step 4: Add the acetates at an angle to layout. Add the frame and photo as seen.

Step 5: Add Add the title, subtitles, and other embellishments to layout. Finishing with enamels.

• Shimmerz Paints JULY 2025 Color Kitz,  Shimmerz (Pip-O Cherry O), Inklingz (Old Yeller), gesso, foam adhesive, and regular adhesive.

For The Shimmerz Paints Design Team, Happiness Depends Upon Ourselves

 

Hi everyone! Melissa here with a new page for the amazing Shimmerz Paints! Go and see all the fun                                                                         treasures there!

To make this page, I stenciled Prima Platinum Texture Paste with a small spatula onto watercolor paper.All the fussy cut images are from Graphic 45. I taped on watercolor paper under the image to make it stronger and to lie flat,and made a mat also. I took a piece of corrugated cardboard,ripped some of the paper off, and brushed on white gesso.

I sprinkled on ultra thick embossing powder into the wet gesso and heated it with a heat gun.

 I added layers of corrugated cardboard in between the layers, and glued on beads and other items. I brushed on Shimmerz Paints. I rubbed on gold,and pearl mica powder on different  areas. 

To add visual interest I added microbeads, seed beads, glass beads,sequins,tulle,a dried flower, crystals, feathers, glass glitter, and bling and metal from my stash. 

      Many of the items are glued on individually with Glossy Accents.   

Inklingz: Green Goddess, Holly and The Ivy, and  She Packs A Punch.

Shimmerz: Run! Forest, Peacock's Plume, Carrot Top, Green Olive, and Bumbly Bee.

Twinklingz: Mind Your Bees-Ness.

My Sweet Boy Using the July Color Kitz

Hey all!  Nicole here with another layout using the July Color Kitz!  Today I'm documenting my sweet dog, Rocky.  This was our last day with Rocky and it brings up such emotion, so I thought it would be nice to document with some bright cheerful colors.
 

 The first thing I did for this layout was to make the background.  I used all the shimmerz and sprays to make this from the kit.

Next I paper pieced from the papers that came with the kit, trying to match the colors with the paints.

Finally I used elements from the kits to embellish!  I also added some buttons and sequins from my stash.  I added my title using a stamp and finished with journaling.

Cheers | Shimmerz Paints Color Kit | Brandy Vaughn

Hello! Brandy here with a new layout featuring the July Color Kit from Shimmerz Paints. This kit was perfect for creating a layout to document a flight of fruity drinks I had with a friend.

I began by choosing the papers I wanted to use for my grid design. I layered them all up and placed them onto my background.

Next, I backed the gorgeous acetate fruit pieces with white cardstock.

Then, I fussy cut some flowers from one the papers.

Next, I chose a title and a few phrase stickers from my stash.

Finally, I assembled all the pieces and added some splatters with Inklingz-Old Yeller, and this layout was complete.

I love the colors of this one and how easily it all came together.

Step 1: Take the white cardstock with the tiny yellow squares and add white gesso to the center. Creating a square with the gesso, and letting it dry.

Step 2: Add the color splashes using a water brush, water, and the following Shimmerz: Evergreen (Shimmerz), Sunny (Shimmerz), and Caribbean Sunset (Spritz). The evergreen color is used as the main focal point on the colorsplash, and the others are used as driplets around the page.

Step 3: Used a diamond shape die or punch, and punch out about 8 out of the black and white paper. 

Step 4: Attached the mixed media paper layered with all the shimmerz on the orange floral background paper. Add the diamond cuts as seen. Add your photo framed in white.

Step 5: Add the following embellishments around page as seen. Tucking here and there. Finish with enamels.
